Folk museum (village life, local history, agriculture, local industries including the world-famous Hornsea Pottery), housed in an 18th-century farmhouse and associated outbuildings. This historic farmhouse was home to the Burn family for nearly 300 years. Local history displays, farmhouse kitchen, dairy, laundry, Victorian parlour, bedroom and schoolroom, doctors surgery, Victorian street scene, childhood room, and the Whitedale building which houses a working model railway.
Carol Harker House tells the story of Hornsea Pottery with over 2000 items of Hornsea pottery on display.
Period rooms of the 1880s, village crafts, local history, and the farming year. Enclosed garden with seating and picnic benches.
Children's crafts workshops during holiday times throughout the year including Hallowe'en and Christmas.

Six buildings with nineteen display areas, Hornsea Museum is much larger than you might have thought. Something for all the family. 18th century farmhouse, outbuildings and garden with play area, 18th century barn, Swallow cottage, the Whitedale building and numbers 15 and 17 Newbegin.
Home of the Burn family for nearly 300 years. Victorian rooms, exhibition areas, over 2000 pieces of Hornsea Pottery, a model railway and model fishing boats. Children's craft days during the school holidays and other events.

Assistance dogs are permitted. The last entry is 1 hour before closing. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
On Sunday 5th November the Museum will close and reopen in the Spring of 2024
