Hornsea Memorial Gardens offer a peaceful place to sit and reflect and watch the world go by and particularly remember those who gave their lives to past conflicts. There are plenty of benches (some from the original pier) to sit and admire the well-kept gardens and water features.

The modern war memorial was installed when the gardens were re-designed in 2008. The original gardens date back to 1877 when they were called Grosvenor Gardens and were only accessible to the homeowners whose properties overlooked them.

An additional feature is two ornate lions, which once stood outside the entrance to the Criterion Cinema in Hull, and a beautiful traditional bandstand that occasionally hosts silver band concerts.
