If you are looking for the best views across Scarborough town and out to sea, a great diversion on the Scarborough route is Oliver's Mount. As well as the impressive views, Oliver's Mount is home to football and rugby pitches, cafes, and camping, and is the central monument to the town's fallen heroes from the wars.

At the foot of Oliver's Mount, you will find a peaceful mere and nature reserve frequented by walkers and anglers.

However, it is not always so peaceful here, as the roads around the mount are turned into a motorbike race track several times a year. This is England's only real road racing circuit and is 2.43 miles (3.91 km) in length. It's technical and weaving track requires a great deal of skill, grit and bravery to tackle!
