The Blue Lobster

In 2015, local sculptor Emma Stothard created The Blue Lobster. Occasionally a rare, bright blue lobster will be landed, known as a "coronation" lobster.

The piece is inspired to represent Staithes' fishing heritage, highlighting its past and present fishing industry. This is a must-visit sculpture on Whitby YC.

Walkers taking to the Cleveland Way will be able to view this while taking a well-earned break before embarking on the rest of the walk.
