The peaceful village of Grosmont's heritage was built on the discovery of ironstone in the 1800s when George Stephenson's railway from Whitby to Pickering was being constructed.

The railway stands proudly in this small village, making it accessible from Whitby for those who want to leave their car parked and experience Whitby YC differently.

For walkers, the Rail Trail will take you via Beck Hole to Goathland and every May; you will see a stunning display of bluebells shimmering in the woodland light.
