Day 1: 

Activity: Zip lines to paddleboarding

North Yorkshire Water Park packs a whole lot of activities all in one place. Scramble up their 12 metre high climbing wall tower and fly down the zip wire 250 metres across the lake before hiring a paddle board and taking to the water, does you dog love to SUP too? No problem, all aboard! 

There are also great on-site places to stay, from camping to glamping, and a great place overlooking the waterpark to grab a bite to eat.

Top Tip: All these places are super dog-friendly!

Day 2: 

Activity: Challenging hikes with a view

Ravenscar to Robin Hoods Bay is an exhilarating 11-mile circular walk that takes in some seriously breathtaking scenery. This one has it all, clifftop views, vibrant moorland, cobbled lanes, and some of the most loved villages on the Yorkshire Coast.

Victoria Hotel in Robin Hood's Bay is located on the hillside with unrivalled views across Robin Hood's Bay. Lots of outdoor seating for a fine day, or find a spot in their bright conservatory if it's a bit too breezy.

Saltmore at Ravenscar is the perfect place to explore this picturesque bay. The Hotel itself is dramatically positioned 600 metres above sea level and offers luxurious rooms as well as self-contained lodges too. Cyclists will find a haven here with a bike repair station, storage, and charge points for EV bikes.

Top Tip: Both of these businesses have bicycle repair stations, making adjustments and repairs on the go a breeze!

Day 3:

Activity: Challenging cycling with view

Cycle from Scarborough to Bridlington along the National Cycle Route 1, this 25 mile linear route starts from Scarborough and heads out into the hills of the rolling Yorkshire countryside on quiet country roads that meander through quaint villages until you reach the beautiful town of Bridlington.

The Ship Inn is a perfect place to park up on this route and has the added benefit of a bicycle repair station if you need to make any repairs on the fly. Outdoor seating is in abundance here and both the views and the food is superb, expect hearty pub food with an elegant twist which is sure to provide sustenance for your ride.

Saddle up at the Manor Court Hotel in one of their great self catering properties that come with your own outdoor seating area and have room to store your cycles safely. There's two great restaurants and a bar on site here too.

Top Tip: Both of these businesses have a great reputation for excellent food - the outdoor wood fired pizzas at The Ship Inn are a must!

Day 4:

Activity: Surfing

Scarborough's North Bay is one of the hottest surf spots on the East coast with great parking close by making it easy to hit the waves with no hassle. No worries if you need to hire some kit, Dexter's Surf Shop has everything you'll need plus indoor showers and changing rooms too.

Place to eat nearby

Saltwater is a relaxed restaurant with great quality food and a laid back vibe. Sandy shoes from the beach are no problem here and they're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The glass fronted facade makes for some epic views too.

Place to stay

Talking about epic views, the ultimate accommodation in this area has to be The Sands. Luxurious apartments located on the waters edge mean you'll open your curtains and watch the sun rise over the North Bay and Scarborough Castle.

Top Tip: Walk north along the Promenade and cross over the footbridge at Scalby Mills to climb up the headland for some epic views.

Day 5: 

Activity: Sailing

Hornsea is home to the largest freshwater lake in Yorkshire and here you can hire rowing boats to cruise the lake and take in the scenery and wildlife whilst you stretch out those muscles and enjoy some time on the water.

The Green Owl is a vibrant hub in Hornsea's town centre serving great food and coffee all day and night. Fresh pizzas are prized here and the cake selection is always too tempting to resist.

Day 6:

Activity: Coasteering at Cayton Bay

This one is for the dare devils. Try your hand at coasteering with Scarborough Surf School and dive into adventure swimming along sea cliffs, exploring the intricate caves and different rock formations created by the sea and then finally climbing the cliffs to jumping anywhere between 1 – 10 meters into the North Sea!

After you come down from the adrenaline head over to The Piebald Inn for a hearty dinner. Choose from 52 flavours of pie from the huge blackboard (one for every week of the year!) and enjoy warm up besides the roaring fire.

The White Lodge Hotel has arguably some of the finest views over Filey bay and this Victorian villa oozes laid back luxury in both it's accommodation and stunning scenic restaurant.

Top Tip: Surfers travelling by camper van can park up in the carpark at Scarborough Surf School and wake up on the beach.

Day 7:

Activity: Horse riding

Heading up to Route YC's most Northern village, Staithes is picture perfect and what better way to explore than on horseback. Borrowby equestrian centre offer treks and rides along the beach that can be catered for riders at all abilities making sure no one misses out on the experience.

After your ride, drop into The Magpie Cafe, an institution in Whitby that offers the finest food with incredible views across the beach. The place is very popular with visitors and locals alike so booking ahead is always advised!
